YouTube, known for its plethora of content, is a platform where millions of people learn something new from its vast array of educational videos. Whether it's a DIY tutorial, a programming course, or a quick lesson on how to solve a Rubik's cube, YouTube caters to the learning needs of its user base. In order to reinforce the learning process, YouTube is now experimenting with AI-generated quizzes linked to its educational content.
The information about this new testing has been updated on YouTube’s test features and experiments page. A small percentage of viewers on the YouTube mobile app, both on Android and iOS, will see these AI-generated quizzes on their Home feed. The quizzes will gauge the user's understanding of the topics covered in a recent educational video they have watched. This innovative feature aims to make learning via YouTube even more interactive and engaging.
What's interesting is the user-friendly design of this feature. If a user opts to participate in the quiz, the video that prompted the quiz will be linked under it. This way, users can easily navigate back to the video to learn more about the topic or revise the content. The experiment is being rolled out globally and will be linked to select educational videos in English.
However, this is just one of many experimental features YouTube frequently tests among a small user base. Some of these tests may be well received, eventually becoming a mainstream feature, while others may not make the cut. The purpose of these experiments is to improve the user experience, making the platform more interactive and user-friendly.
In addition to this, YouTube is also working on other experimental features such as a three-strike ad-blocking policy, a new Lock Screen feature for YouTube Premium, and a potential cloud gaming service. These experiments highlight YouTube’s continuous effort to innovate and provide a top-notch experience for its users.
