A thrilling blend of espionage and heart-pounding action awaits fans as a new edition of King of Spies arrives. This esteemed secret agent saga, crafted by talented creators, is set to make its return in a beautiful Library Edition next year, thanks to Dark Horse.
The four-issue narrative centers on Sir Roland King, a retired super-spy reminiscent of iconic characters. Faced with the knowledge of his limited time left, he wrestles with a lifetime of remorse for his involvement in a tainted regime. Driven by his urgency, he targets various threats looming over him, with the only individual capable of challenging him being his estranged son, who harbors a desire for revenge against his father.
This upcoming Library Edition presents the complete story within a striking 152-page hardcover format measuring 8" x 12.1875". In addition to the full narrative, readers can look forward to an array of supplementary material, including previously unseen artwork and character designs, along with additional content yet to be revealed.
The collaboration stretches beyond just the creators, as the vivid illustrations are brought to life through careful coloring and skilled lettering. One of the creators expressed their passion for tales featuring seasoned fighters embarking on one last mission, noting the gripping nature of this particular story, which balances intense emotion with an element of enjoyment.
Initially released by another publisher in 2021, the rights for King of Spies and several other notable titles were reacquired by Dark Horse earlier this year. This selection includes popular works such as Huck, The Ambassadors, and the ongoing series Nemesis: Rogue's Gallery.
The King of Spies Library Edition is scheduled for release in bookstores on July 14, with comic shops following suit the very next day.
