These players found themselves facing bans for sharing game videos that included explicit scenes, which was a direct consequence of the Xbox system's preset functionality that automatically shares gameplay footage online – often without the player's consent.

The issue stirred some unrest after a user on Reddit experienced sanctions first-handily despite explanations that the explicit content's upload was unintentional and largely a result of the innate settings of the platform rather than the user's deliberate choice; the user's punishment remained unchanged. This situation has sparked controversy over privacy concerns since the service uploads personal game recordings without explicit user permission.
