Dead by Daylight may be less popular than PUBG but no less iconic. This survival horror puts one player as a killer against four potential survivors who need to stay alive and escape the map. This asymmetric gameplay turned out to be popular enough, so PUBG and Dead by Daylight celebrate Halloween together, with a big event.
Within the event, PUBG players will be able to purchase Dead by Daylight-themed cosmetics and items. The visual style of Dead by Daylight is distinct and impressive, so even those unfamiliar with the original DbD game may like these visual updates.
As for the DbD mode, this will in fact be the original Dead by Daylight brought into the PUBG environment. Like in the original game, the Survivors need to fix generators, so they are able to escape the area where they are hunted. The Killer is alone but powerful, and it will take some skill and luck for Survivors to survive the contact. The Survivors have three health levels and may be damaged or healed.
Some changes, though, have been made to maintain some PUBG experience. On one hand, the Killer now can’t be killed. On the other, the Survivors can use items that are in abundance on the map, like in the regular PUBG modes. Smoke grenades can cover you from the Killer, and stun grenades immobilize him. The Killer has a Win94, sticky bombs, and a machete.
If you have played Dead by Daylight, this will seem more than familiar. But for regular PUBG players who want their experience refreshed, this will be quite a new mode which will keep them entertained. The mode will be there until November 6, and it’s not known whether it will return for the next Halloween or as a constant part of the game.
