Troll 2: Unleashing Chaos in Norway's Epic Sequel

This year marks the arrival of a much-anticipated sequel to the Norwegian sensation, Troll. Occasionally, a project conducted in a language distinct from English breaks through and gains worldwide acclaim on platforms like Netflix. Although South Korea's Squid Game is the most prominent example, the recent Troll has likewise made waves on a global scale.

The film, crafted by a group of talented Norwegian filmmakers, tells a captivating tale of an ancient troll released from its thousand-year confinement in the Dovre Mountains. The creature then goes on to wreak havoc across Norway, leaving devastation in its path. Following the overwhelming success of the first installment, Netflix swiftly announced plans for a sequel, which is set to premiere this year.

The follow-up, simply titled Troll 2, is anticipated to make a comeback on the streaming platform at an unspecified date in 2025. Regarding the plot of this sequel, details suggest that a formidable new troll awakens and embarks on a destructive rampage. The protagonists, including Nora (Ine Marie Wilmann), political consultant Andreas Isaksen (portrayed by Kim Falck) and ex-army captain turned major Kristoffer Holm (played by Mads Pettersen)), must confront their most challenging endeavor yet. As the monster’s trail of chaos expands, they race against time to prevent their homeland from descending into darkness.

Troll 2 brings back the original creative team, with Roar Uthaug at the helm as director, Espen Aukan penning the script, and producers Espen Horn and Kristian Strand Sinkerud. With the release date on the horizon, a teaser clip has already been launched, allowing audiences a sneak peek of what's to come.
