The upcoming Samsung Galaxy Ring feature for tracing a misplaced smart accessory has been revealed in a recent development update. Slated for unveiling at the forthcoming Galaxy Unpacked event, this innovative smart ring is destined to share the stage with the latest iterations of foldable smartphones. Not only is this device expected to incorporate advanced health and sleep analysis features, but emerging details also hint at its potential capabilities currently making waves online. A notable discovery within the software of Samsung's locating application has brought to light code entries indicative of a novel function devised to aid users in swiftly pinpointing their lost Galaxy Ring.
A newly envisioned 'Lost Mode' Functionality for Samsung Galaxy Ring
Detailed insights obtained from the Find application's APK analysis by Android Police reveal code snippets such as "Tap start to make the light on your ring blink" and "Ring light is blinking". These entries point towards the introduction of a "Lost Mode" alongside integrated illumination on the device. Once activated, this mode is designed to trigger continuous flashing of lights on the Galaxy Ring, thus enabling owners to locate their gleaming accessory amid darkness by switching off ambient lighting.
Furthermore, the Samsung Find Application is anticipated to alert owners about the current status of the ring—whether its light is actively flashing or if a connection hiccup prevents the blink-triggering feature. Additionally, an option to secure Samsung accounts through the app could be implemented, providing an extra layer of security for the wearer's data.
Anticipation Builds for the Galaxy Ring's Imminent Reveal
Having first teased this anticipated wearable back in January at the Galaxy S24 series launch and subsequently at MWC in February, the Galaxy Ring is expected to be officially released on July 10 during the speculated next Unpacked event, together with the Galaxy Z Flip 6 and Galaxy Z Fold 6. Its pricing is speculated to be around Rs. 35,000 in India, with the US price range estimated between $300-$350 (approximately Rs. 25,000 to Rs. 30,000).
Integrating seamlessly with Samsung's Health platform, the Galaxy Ring will be available in three stylish hues, likely including black, gold, and silver. Prospective features are believed to encompass tracking for heart rate and SpO2 (blood oxygen) levels, among other health metrics.
